It’s the Plane Boss, it’s the Plane!

Those of you who are old enough to remember the TV Show Fantasy Land will remember that the diminutive Tattoo would say “It’s the Plane Boss, the Plane” at the beginning of every edition. And even if you can’t remember that line, it still may well improve your golf swing if you think about it now!

I am fortunate in that I teach a lot of student and one of the most common faults that I see is them not being able to rotate their swing around their spine, keeping the angle of the spine consistent throughout the swing.

This is what makes us “Stay on Plane”. And not staying on plane, can be the cause of a multitude of mistakes, from getting the ball fat or thin, pulling to pushing the ball and everything in between.

If you do not have access to have a lesson with me or your local golf teaching professional, here’s one way in which you can check yourself out. When you have the opportunity to be in the sunshine, by getting it behind you, you can use it to watch your shadow and see exactly where your swing plane is.

But whatever you do, make sure you get someone to look at your swing to make sure that the angle of the shaft is a mirror image of your set up position when it is at the top of the back-swing.

This is one more reason why I titled my latest book “You Can’t See Your Back Swing – How to Seriously WIN at Business & Golf”.
